DONALD TRUMP AND KGB ACTIVE MEASURES
After reading in Craig Unger’s American Kompromat the claim by former KGB officer Yuri Shvets that he saw proof Donald Trump’s September 2, 1987 full page ad published in the NY Times, Washington Post and Boston Globe was a KGB active measures influence operation, I did my own interview with Mr. Shvets, and examined contemporaneous congressional hearings including the 1983 testimony of Stanislav Levchenko, the Active Measures KGB officer who defected to the US Embassy in Tokyo. I also consulted declassified CIA Intelligence Estimates, State Department reports and other sources to more fully investigate the question, was this an active measure, and an attack on the US-Japan alliance ?
